I started my career in the Australian Army, 10 years in Operations and Procurement, managing complex acquisitions and high-stakes decisions under real pressure. That experience taught me how high-value buying and selling should work: structured, disciplined, and built around the people making the decision. Then I spent 25 years in enterprise technology sales across IBM, TechnologyOne, IFS, ABB, PowerPlan, and BlackLine. Training has been a thread throughout my career. I eventually formalised that into TEAMSolutions, building it as a training provider with accredited programs. But I kept hitting the same wall. The training worked while it was fresh. Then reps went back to their desks, back to their CRM, and the habits eroded. I needed something that made the methodology stick, that was there in the moment, at 10pm before a big meeting, on the drive in, when the RFP landed. That became Symphony. I watched something go quietly wrong in this industry. The tools that were supposed to help sellers win got rebuilt to serve the board. KPI dashboards. Pipeline reporting. Activity metrics. Every system became about what the organisation needed to measure, not what the rep needed to close. Reps were spending the majority of their time on things that weren't moving deals, away from customers, away from the conversations that mattered. The seller got forgotten.
